Dear Families of Intermediate Students,
This year, the Young Scientists’ Fair has been renamed and it is now referred to as the S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Fair. It is thought of as a combination of what we had previously had the students complete for the Young Scientists Fair and the Young Inventors Fair. If your child is selected to be one of our school representatives at the NWES S.T.E.M. Fair that will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, more information regarding the District S.T.E.M. Fair (Saturday, April 26, 2014 at River Ridge Middle School) will come home at that time.
THIRD through FIFTH-grade students will be REQUIRED to complete a project. Teachers will be sending home the S.T.E.M. Fair Student Research Plan and Forms packet as well as a timeline with details regarding due dates. The packet has changed so please look at it carefully.
Backboards will be provided to your child free of charge and will come home as the S.T.E.M. Fair approaches. Information, as well as a copy of the packet, is also available on our school website to help you better support your scientist at home with this project.
Completed projects will be due to your child’s teacher on March 11, 2014 unless your child’s teacher informs you otherwise.
Please do not hesitate to contact either myself, or your child’s teacher.
