red-ribbon

Red Ribbon Week Events, October 24-28, 2016

“#Ilovemydrugfreeselfie”

Every October we celebrate Red Ribbon Week.  We learn about making healthy choices during this special week and pledge to be drug free.  We wear a red ribbon to honor a United States law officer named Enrique “Kiki” Camarena.  He was killed while trying to stop a drug gang.   By wearing a red ribbon, people all over the United States show their support for Kiki and the fight against harmful drugs.

Monday – Kickoff

Staff and students are encouraged to wear red to show school spirit. Students will receive Red Ribbon Week bracelets to be worn all week.

Tuesday – Drug Free Hero Day

Staff and students are encouraged to wear camouflage or brown and black.

Wednesday – Dress to Impress Day

Staff and students are encouraged to dress your best (nice shirt, pants, dresses).

Thursday – Mix it Up Day

Staff and students are encouraged to wear mismatched crazy clothing.

Friday – Team Up Against Drugs Day

Staff and students are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team shirt.

Throughout the week classes will be visiting our Red Ribbon Week photo booth.  Check out our Facebook page daily and the hash tag #Ilovemydrugfreeselfie to see the pictures!
